“Three Red Letter Days in the history of Llandudno General Hospital …… April 20th 1935 , in the Llandudno Town Hall an enthusiastic meeting of all representatives of all sections of the Community passed a unanimous resolution to launch a scheme to provide a New Hospital . After three years it was now possible to commence building , and on the second Red Letter Day …… June 15th 1938 the foundation stones were laid . Now , on the third Red Letter Day ……. August 12th 1939 the new hospital is complete and will be opened by H.R.H. Princess Alice Countess of Athlone. The total cost including equipment being £69,000 approximately.”
